A Priceless Bat Mitzvah Moment

We celebrated Lindsay’s bat mitzvah last night, and had a terrific time. I am rarely without my Canon 5D Mark II these days, because I find the ability to fuse my photography with little video moments to be invaluable. And here was such a moment.

Lindsay’s dad was at the microphone delivering a touching and fun tribute to his daughter when, out of nowhere, one of Lindsay’s little cousins provided a moment of comic (and sagely!) relief. Watch and listen here…

A Bike Ride on the Croisette

I’m working on assignment in Cannes in the south of France this week. I was given the opportunity to ride around on one of the Yahoo! “purple pedals” bikes. These whizzy retro machines are equipped with a solar-powered GPS and webcam, and when they’re underway, they take a photo and relay their position once per minute. You can see the route I took, as well as some of the photos the bike took here: http://purplepedals.com/

Off to the Côte d’Azur

I am off on an exciting business trip/photo shoot. I’m presently at San Francisco International Airport on my way to London/Heathrow, where I’m connecting to Nice, France (the Côte d’Azur!). And my place of business for the coming week is the famous “Croisette”, Cannes’ main Boulevard. I’ll be photographing some of the goings-on at the annual Cannes Lions advertising confab, with a special emphasis on the extracurricular activities. Really.

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it one hundred times, my job doesn’t suck.

I am moving again

My lovely place on Marsten has become no longer the right place for me for a number of reasons. So I found a new place that’s about 150 yards south of this location. It’s a wonderful, funky old building that suits my needs wonderfully well. I’ll be packing up soon, so pardon my tardiness in returning phone calls and emails if that happens!

Wish me luck…there is a lot of stuff to move! :-)
